Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
At Infinite Horizons Psychotherapy, we aim to do our part in removing barriers to therapy by making it as accessible as possible.
- Our standard fees range from $130–$200 per session.
- Our sliding scale fees range from $100–$140 per session.
- Our low-cost therapy fee is $60. We may offer limited spots for a lower fee of $30 per session based on availability.
If you have questions about fees or coverage for therapy in North York or online across Ontario, feel free to reach out.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you’re unable to attend your therapy session, please notify your therapist at least 24 hours in advance so that someone else may use that time.
As per our policy, if you cancel your appointment late or do not show up, you will be billed for half of a session for the first occurrence, and the full session fee for any following occurrences. We know life happens, and we’re always open to talking things through if something unexpected comes up.
Is what I say to my therapist confidential?
Yes. Honesty is a crucial part of therapy, which means your confidentiality is very important to us. Whatever we discuss in session will remain confidential unless:
- We believe that you are in imminent danger of seriously harming or killing yourself.
- We have grounds to believe that you are a danger to others.
- We have reasonable grounds to believe that a minor or vulnerable person is in need of protection by a person in charge of their care.
- Our clinical notes or testimonies are subpoenaed by the courts.
You can read more about confidentiality and psychotherapy in Ontario here.
Do you offer in-person therapy? Where are you located?
Yes, we offer both in-person therapy and virtual therapy, so you can choose either one or a mix of both, depending on what works best for you! We also offer Walk & Talk Therapy in North York and Mississauga for clients who prefer movement and fresh air while they process.
Our practice is located at #338 – 20 De Boers Drive in North York. If you take public transit, we’re a short 3-minute walk from Sheppard West Station. If you drive, we’re conveniently located about a minute from Highway 401. Our building has paid parking on-site for $6/hour.
What if I don’t have anything to talk about in my therapy session?
That’s totally okay and not uncommon! You don’t need to be feeling “bad” to come in for a therapy session. In fact, there’s a lot of value in coming when you’re feeling relatively okay or not sure what to talk about.
You might be surprised by what comes up once you’re in the room (or online session). If nothing else, focusing on what has been helping you can be a great place to start. You and your therapist will always find something to explore that connects back to why you came to therapy in the first place.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
That’s such a good question, and honestly, one most people ask at some point. There’s no official checklist that says, “Yep, you need therapy now.” But if you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, overthinking everything, or just not quite like yourself lately, that might be your sign.
Therapy isn’t only for when things are “really bad.” It’s also a space to untangle your thoughts, understand yourself better, and feel a little lighter. Maybe you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time, or you keep thinking, “Other people have it worse, I should be fine.” (Spoiler: your struggles still matter.)
Think of therapy less as “something’s wrong with me” and more as “I want to take care of myself differently.” If you’re even curious about therapy in North York, or online across Ontario, that’s often a hint it could be helpful, and you don’t have to know exactly what you want to talk about. That’s what the process helps you figure out.
