  • Native Youth Crisis Hotline: 1-877-209-1266 (24/7 across all of Canada).

CANADA-WIDE

  • 211 (or www.211.ca): Referral topics include: mental health, legal, income support, employment, family services, food, disabilities, community programs, etc.

  • Black Youth Helpline: 1-833-294-8650 (9am-10pm EST). Provides support for youth, parents and schools. Includes an initial culturally appropriate youth/family assessment for youth with complex needs followed by an appropriate intervention plan. Serve as a bridge to health and other services as needed in the specific client situation. Support provided both online and through in person appointments. 

  • Canada Drug Rehab Addiction Services Directory: 1-877-746-1963

  • Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline: 1-833-900-1010 (24/7).

  • Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA): CMHA provides advocacy, programs and resources that help to prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive.   • Health Link: 811 - 24/7 health advice; (known as Telehealth in Ontario)

  • Indian Residential School Crisis Line: 1-866-925-4419 (24/7). Former Indian Residential School (IRS) students may call the IRS Crisis Line, a national, 24-hour toll-free support services operated by trained Aboriginal crisis counsellors. Languages: English, French.

  • Kids Help Phone (Jeunesse J'ecoute): 1-800-668-6868 or www.kidshelpphone.ca for chat (for children and youth up to age 29; 24/7, anonymous and confidential; English/French/Mandarin; can also be contacted if not in crisis); Text Services: Text "CONNECT" to 686868 (also serving adults)

  • Anishnawbe 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Management Service: 416-891-8606 (Aboriginal/Indigenous/First Nations people).

  • Assaulted Women's Helpline: 1-866-863-0511 (for women experiencing any form of abuse; 24/7; free, anonymous, and confidential); English/French.

  • Connex Ontario: Addiction, Mental Health, and Gambling Treatment Services. Call 1-866-531-2600 or go to https://connexontario.ca for chat (both operate 24/7).

  • Gerstein Centre (Toronto): (416) 929-5200 (for individuals ages 16+; 24/7.

  • Good2Talk: 1-866-925-5454 (for post-secondary students; 24/7; anonymous/confidential; English/French/Arabic).

  • Streets to Homes Assessment and Referral Centre (129 Peter Street): 416-392-0090. Walk in referral to emergency shelter and street respite.

  • Telecare Peel (English, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish Portuguese): 905-459-7777.

  • Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/ Multicultural Womxn Against Rape: 416-597-8808 (All ages; 24/7; English/French/Spanish).

  • Toronto Withdrawal Management System: 1-866-366-9513. Hours: 24/7, 365 days a year.

  • YouthLine (LGBTTQQ2SI support): 1-800-268-9688 or youthline.ca to chat with a volunteer or peer mentor (chat available Sunday-Friday from 4pm - 9pm).

ALBERTA

  • Alberta One Line (for sexual violence): 1-866-403-8000 (phone, text, and chat services available every day of the week from 9am - 9pm MST). One-Line offers support, information and referral to local services and resources, it does not provide therapy or clinical care. Chat available at https://www.acaahelps.ca).

  • Bigstone Cree Nation Crisis Line: (780) 891-3333 (free; band members are eligible).

  • ConnecTeen Calgary: (403) 264-8336 (24/7), text: (587) 333-2724 or chat www.calgaryconnecteen.com (both available Mon-Fri: 3pm-10pm MST, Sat-Sun: 12pm-5pm). You can also email them your questions at connecteen@distresscentre.com to receive an answer within 24-48hrs.

  • Edmonton Elder Abuse Intervention Team: 780-454-8888 (24/7). The Seniors Abuse Helpline provides confidential, non-judgmental and short-term crisis intervention, emotional support and resources to those who are experiencing or concerned about someone else experiencing seniors’ abuse.

  • Wood's Homes: 1-800-563-6106 (24/7; for children and youth), text: (587) 315-5000, chat: www.woodshomes.ca (both text/chat available from 9am-10pm MST).

BC

SASKATCHEWAN

  • Farm Stress Line: 1-800-667-4442 (24/7). They provide crisis counselling, resources, and referrals for farmers and ranchers.

  • West Central Crisis and Family Support Centre (Central Saskatchewan): 306-463-6655 (Monday to Friday 9am-12pm, 1pm-5pm), or 306-933-6200 after hours.

  • Piwapan Women's Centre – Crisis Line (North Saskatchewan): 306-425-4090 (24/7).

  • Prince Albert Mobile Crisis Unit: 306-764-1011 (Monday to Friday 4pm-8am; Saturday to Sunday 24 hours).

  • Regina Mobile Crisis Services: 306-757-0127 (24/7).

MANITOBA

QUEBEC

  • Centre de Prevention du Suicide de Quebec: 1-866-277-3553 (24/7).

  • Centre Interligne Inc.: Toll-free: 1-888-505-1010 or 514-866-0103. Chat: https://interligne.co. Provides telephone, email, and chat support and information for people involved or interested in issues related to sexual orientation in Quebec. Services in English and French.

  • Le Centre d'Aide 24/7: 819-595-9999 (24/7). Offering distress and crisis intervention services for Outaouais residents in crisis. Services in English and French.

  • Klinic Crisis Line: Toll-free: 1-888-322-3019 or 204-786-8686 (24/7). Crisis chat: www.supportline.ca (Monday to Friday: 10am – 9pm).

  • Klinic Human Trafficking Line: Toll Free: 1-844-333-2211 (24/7). This line provides support and counselling to trafficked persons, and anyone else affected by trafficking. Information regarding resources and referrals are also offered. Sex workers can also use the line for making a bad date list report anonymously with a counsellor who after taking the report will offer support that you can accept or decline.

  • Klinic Sexual Assault Crisis Line: Toll-free: 1-888-292-7565 or 204-786-8631 (24/7). For in person counselling, call Sexual Assault Intake: (204) 784-4059.

  • Manitoba Farm, Rural & Northern Support Services: Toll-free: 1-866-367-3276 or chat www.supportline.ca (helpline and chat available Monday to Friday: 10am – 9pm).

  • Manitoba Suicide Line "Reason to Live": 1-877-435-7170 (1-877-HELP170).

NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR

  • Choices for Youth: (709) 757-3050 (24/7). Shelter/support/safety for young men.

  • Mental Health Crisis Line: 1-888-737-4668 (24/7).

  • Naomi Centre: (709) 579-8432 (24/7). Shelter/support/safety for young women.

  • Sexual Assault Crisis Line: (709) 726-1411 (24/7).

NEW BRUNSWICK

  • Chimo Helpline: 1-800-667-5005 (24/7) or chat: http://www.chimohelpline.ca(live chat available every day from 5pm-midnight). They currently have limited French service. They provide a listening ear, information, crisis intervention and referrals to resources in N.B.

  • Sexual Assault Support Line: 506-454-0437 (24/7). They provide confidential sexual assault support line for anyone affected by sexual violence, or anyone supporting someone affected by sexual violence.

NOVA SCOTIA

  • Mental Health Mobile Crisis Line: 1-888-429-8167 (24/7).

  • The Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Crisis and Referral: 1-855-379-2099 (24/7). The Centre also provides online support through the Eskasoni Crisis Worker Facebook account. Both are a service of Eskasoni Mental Health.

  • The Sexual Assault and Harassment Phone Line: 1-902-425-1066 (available every day from 12pm-midnight). The phone line offers non-judgemental, active listening and support to anyone who has experienced or has been affected by sexualized violence. The phone line is operated by Dalhousie Student Union and there are only 2 phone line operators taking calls and they may be helping another person when you call. If you are unable to get through, please try again later.

  • Transition House Association of Nova Scotia: 1-800-563-2945 (24/7). Emotional support and referrals for women who have been abused.

  • Victim Services Emotional Support: 1-902-490-5300 (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, based on Halifax). Emotional support for victims of sexual violence. No police involvement is necessary in order to get support

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

  • The Island Helpline: 1-800-218-2885 (24/7). Services in English and French. They provide emotional support, problem solving and crisis intervention.

YUKON

  • Kaushee's Place Crisis Line: 1-867-668-5733 (24/7). Women's Transition Home - Refuge for women experiencing violence.

  • Yukon Distress and Support Line: 1-800-563-0808 (from 7pm-3am). Provide confidential, anonymous and non-judgmental support to people in crisis, distress, looking for information or seeking support.

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES

  • Northwest Territories Help Line: 1-800-661-0844 (24/7) free and confidential.  Trained responders can help with a variety of concerns. They also provide the option for follow-up calls.

  • Nunavut Kamatsiaqtut Help Line: 867-979-333 for local Nunavut residents or 1-800-265-3333 toll free for those outside of Iqaluit and residents of Nunavumiut (both 24/7). Confidential and anonymous.
