What to expect

Free Consultation

In this free 20 minute session, you will be able to meet your therapist, tell them more about what you're hoping to gain from therapy (and it's totally okay if you're not completely sure about this yet!), ask them your questions, learn more about what to expect when working with this therapist, and discuss next steps.

Click here to read our blog post to learn more about what to expect from therapy.

Individual Therapy

Initial Session (50 minutes):

Your first session will be an intake session where your therapist will ask you a series of questions about yourself. This information will be very helpful to tailor your approach based on your unique needs, preferences, and history.

Here, you will also collaboratively set goals, set a structure for your sessions, and create a plan for your time in therapy.

Follow-Up Sessions (50 minutes):

How your follow-up sessions look like will depend on what you and your therapist agreed-upon on your previous sessions.

Throughout your follow-up sessions, you will collaboratively monitor progress, your goals, and preferences for therapy.

Couples Therapy

Initial Session (50 minutes):

Both partners will book an individual initial session with the therapist. Similar to individual therapy, your first session will be an intake session where your therapist will ask you a series of questions about yourself. Additional information will be gathered about your relationship to better understand your experience in the relationship.

Follow-Up Sessions (75 minutes):

All follow-up sessions will include you, your partner, and the therapist.

You'll be asked about your expectations for therapy (and your partner), goals, and preferences. You will collaboratively create a plan for future sessions.

Throughout your follow-up sessions, you will collaboratively monitor progress, your goals, and preferences for therapy.
